Solution to A Fair Use Of Science

Solution to the mystery

Marty turned around to see Angela hurrying towards him.
“How did you get Principal Jacobs to believe it was Bully?” she asked excitedly.

“Well, Bully can be pretty sneaky, but he ‘ain’t no Einstein’ when it comes to science. Principal Jacobs knows as well as I do that you can’t boil six cups of water for ten minutes straight and still have six cups left.”

He pointed to Bully’s experiment. Sure enough, the pot’s measuring marks indicated that it still held almost six cups.

Just then, Mac came in to the gym holding several extension cords in his hand.

“Well Angela, it looks like you’re back in business,” Marty said. “Can you handle things without me for a bit?”

“Sure, I guess so,” she shrugged. “Why?”

“Oh,” he grinned at her, “ I just need to sit down and make my list of what I’m going to buy with my half of the prize money.”

“Hmm… I don’t recall saying that,” she said sweetly. “Do you have it in writing?”

She laughed at the look of astonishment on his face and skipped back to her table. Marty shook his head. He might know the laws of science, but he’d never figure out girls.
